What Is A Giclee?
A giclee (zhee-clay) is a high- resolution digital print and is a recognized fine art print category like lithographs and serigraphs. Giclee is considered the world's best technique for reproducing original works of art. digitally created art, and fine art photography.
Giclee prints look and feel like original art. Prints are made on the highest quality fine are watercolor papers and canvas, from names you trust like Hahnemuhle and Fredrix.
How do Giclee Prints Differ From Traditional Prints?
Giclee printmaking utilizes imaging technology that allows prints to be made with a continuous tone. The giclee method has a much larger color gamut for matchmaking color along with a larger variety of media available. The results are the closest reproductions you can get to the original.
In contrast, traditional offset printing has a dot pattern detectable to the unaided eye. It has a smaller color gamut, which makes it harder to match colors. Also, with traditional offset printing there are limitations with paper stocks that can be used for reproduction prints.
