It’s the crap table of the Offshore Industry. They put millions of dollars on the line . . . build rigs thousands of feet high . . . sink them down to the ocean floor. They calculate, automate, engineer and computerize . . . and it all starts or ends here, the drilling platform . . . A crew of four or five roughnecks pulling pipe, then driving it back down again . . . playing a deadly serious game of craps beneath the ocean floor. At the end of a shift they look filthy and smell bad . . . but so does crude oil . . . Where would we be without it, or for that matter, without them?
